That's correct Richard. We could look for HOWTOs that users report work.
It should be somewhat simple - for the forum HOWTOs, you could run a
bash script that would convert the BBCode tags into HTML or DocThingy or
whatever.
Some HOWTOs should be shipped with Ubuntu, such as how to set up foobar
wireless device, and others that describe how to get you running and
online. The optionals should be downloaded from online.

Also, there could be catagories, so that you can browse through for
interesting stuff, such as Compiz, Xscreensaver integration, etc.
