I am running OpenSuse 10.3 on an xps 1330 with the cisco vpn client. I connect to the campus lan via the vpn on or off campus, and occasionally the same thing would happen as previously mentioned. Everything freezes but the power button, not even alt+prtscrn REISUB works. I'm starting to think this is a problem with the vpn client. I'm running on KDE 3.5 if that helps.
I have found similar problems happen when the computers modem malfunctions, however my computer didn't come with a modem so thats out.
