The next thing worth checking, is to make sure that DNS is properly configured for the domain, and that the PDC is configured to use it. As an example when I was setting up a test machine my PDC also served DNS, but wasn't using 127.0.0.1 for lookups.
Can you double check that? Also, if you need to change the dns config on the PDC it will need to be restarted.
