** Description changed: When installing Ubuntu Server i386 via CD-ROM, my RAID 2+0 array is not detected as 1 drive, but as two separate drives. These are 2 IDE drives attached. This also results in GRUB failing to boot after the installer is complete. - My RAID controller is a Promise FastTrak133 (PDC20277) which is onboard - my Intel SE7501WV2 server motherboard. + The RAID controller is a Promise FastTrak133 (PDC20277) which is onboard + an Intel SE7501WV2 server motherboard. lspci reports the following about my controller: - 01:01.0 RAID bus Controller: Promise Technology, Inc. PDC20277 (SBFastTrak133te)(rev 01) + 01:02.0 RAID bus Controller: Promise Technology, Inc. PDC20277 (SBFastTrak133te)(rev 01) I suspect this bug belongs in the kernel, but I am not intimately familar with Ubuntu's package structure. I am also not sure how to proceed debugging this issue since my experience with RAID has mainly been plug and play. I am willing to debug if someone can provide me with instructions. I also tried this on hardy rc5 and got the same result.
