Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 7.10 adm64  VLC media player 0.8.6c Janus   0.8.6.release.

[00000388] dvdnav demuxer warning: unknown codec for id=0xff
libdvdnav: demux error! 64 d8 af (should be 0x000001)
[00000388] dvdnav demuxer warning: cannot get next block (Expected NAV packet
but none found.)
[00000292] main playlist warning: unable to find parent!
[00000292] main playlist: nothing to play

mplayer plays this without any problem.

The file is:
House M.D. season 3 dvd 1,
(from a hard drive image )
go to episode 5 from season 3
go to position near second 1930 in 3/4 of episode, and the playback crash after
The Homie says "tyring to escape their evil drug poping dad!"
and then the crash.

btw I get lots of reports like:

[00000401] main private warning: backward_pts != current_pts (16682)
[00000401] main private warning: dts != current_pts (-16696)
[00000401] main private warning: backward_pts != current_pts (16686)
[00000401] main private warning: dts != current_pts (-16696)
[00000401] main private warning: backward_pts != current_pts (16675)
[00000401] main private warning: dts != current_pts (-16685)
[00000401] main private warning: backward_pts != current_pts (16686)

all the time.

Other DVDs crash in similar way, and I am almost positive it was working on
older version of VLC
and/or on debian was it.
