Hi there,

I've a Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo A1630 (Athlon64 3700+, Ubuntu 7.10) notebook with
a synaptics touchpad and it seems as if I've the same problem: After logging-in
into Gnome everything works fine, but after ~30 sec. the touchpad just stops
responding and the mouse pointer stucks. Afer 3-5 sec. it works again.
In addition after approximately 30 min. of operation as described above, the
vertical scroll "bar" on the right side of the touchpad as well as the tapping
does not work anymore, although the options "tap on click" and "vertical
scrolling" in the touchpad-tab under System/Settings/Mouse are both activated.
Hence for drag'n drop operations I have to use the touchpad-buttons, which is
less convenient of course.
