Public bug reported: In my home directory, I have a subdirectory for a game. eg. /home/foobar/game/
I play the game often, so I want to have a shortcut for the game on the desktop, so I can just double-click on the icon on the desktop instead of open the directory all the time. So I middle-click on the executable file and move to desktop and choose "Link Here" in the menu. So that I have a icon on the desktop called "Game" that links to /home/foobar/game/executable But it does not work. Because the executable tries to read a data file which resides in its own directory, e.g /home/foobar/game/data.moo So when I click on the link, it searches for data.moo on the desktop instead of its own directory. It searches for data.moo in /home/foobar/Desktop/data.moo when it actually should be looking for it in /home/foobar/game/data.moo ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Path not included in links https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/196137 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
