Today, I upgraded (must be an upgrade to Alpha5).

The problem is still there: I put the CD in the drive, Totem appears and
can't open cdda:. When I rightclick on the item "cdda:" in the Totem
playlist and choose "Copy location" and paste that in an editor, I get:

file:///home/myname/cdda%3A/

So Totem thinks the CD is mounted in my home directory?!
In the file manager, I can't find it in my home directory.
In /media, there are two CD-directories: cdrom (which is a symlink) and cdrom0.
But those are empty and are present when the CD is not in the drive as well.
