Public bug reported: System information: HP Compaq 6715b, running latest Hardy as at Feb 25. gnome-power-manager version 2.21.1-0ubuntu1
If I'm running on battery power when I log into my Gnome session, the power icon shows that I'm on AC power with a fully charged battery. If I plug in the AC it updates to "charging" and shows the correct charge percentage. When I unplug the AC it correctly shows that I'm on battery power and and displays the correct charge and a reasonable remaining time estimate. However, only the status icon and tooltip seem to be wrong. Something is detecting battery power when I log in since the LCD backlight is adjusted automatically to dim down. The system knows about two batteries, but only one is present. The following information was captured while running on battery power: $ for x in `find /proc/acpi/ac_adapter /proc/acpi/battery -type f`; do echo; echo "$x:"; cat $x; done /proc/acpi/ac_adapter/C1EB/state: state: off-line /proc/acpi/battery/C1EC/alarm: present: no /proc/acpi/battery/C1EC/state: present: no /proc/acpi/battery/C1EC/info: present: no /proc/acpi/battery/C1ED/alarm: alarm: unsupported /proc/acpi/battery/C1ED/state: present: yes capacity state: ok charging state: discharging present rate: 1522 mA remaining capacity: 4064 mAh present voltage: 11984 mV /proc/acpi/battery/C1ED/info: present: yes design capacity: 4561 mAh last full capacity: 4561 mAh battery technology: rechargeable design voltage: 10800 mV design capacity warning: 229 mAh design capacity low: 46 mAh capacity granularity 1: 100 mAh capacity granularity 2: 100 mAh model number: Primary serial number: 02763 2007/06/19 battery type: LIon OEM info: Hewlett-Packard ** Affects: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Status icon shows AC power and full battery when logging in while on battery power https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/195658 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
