LTS to LTS upgrades are infact supported, this is not an invalid bug. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HardyUpgrades#head-e7f287c730b93116f89de7ea7e05efbe95fa6dd1
As some additional information regarding this bug: These transitional packages need to be included in the Alternate CD as well, for those without intenet access who are planning on upgrading. These packages should exist for redundancy (as well as the fact that they just are supposed to be there anyway). In case do-release-upgrade and/or update-manager(-core) fail (or have other bugs associated with them), you'll still be able to upgrade manually and recover the system. -- Hardy doesn't have kernel transitional packages from Dapper https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/195212 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
