By something else, I mean about anything that is different with the
display. There must be something, if you're eyes get hurt when using
Ubuntu, but not when using Windows. And you, as the user, are the only
one that can say what it could be. Try looking for some tiny details
(they _do_ matter when you use it for longer time), like, if you look at
the bottom left corner, do you see something strange on the upper right
corner of the screen?

There usually won't be anything on LCD screens, but if it is
misconfigured, there is a slight possibility that there is.
