I don't have 'bootchart' or anything on Ubuntu. GNOME loads much slower on Ubuntu than the Windows shell loads on Windows XP.
The GNOME Panel 2.21.91 It feels like GNOME Panel is loading slower too at startup. Also about comparison, you can say that you cant compare, but most people don't care about cache, libraries and the inner workings.
