True that it is a different laptop, but it is a laptop, I have the same condition as described, but forced shutdown is not required. Maybe this is a bug and my solution a workaround, but maybe this is how this feature is designed. I don';t know. In any case, the condition as described does not mean that hibernation and suspend does not require a reboot. More information is needed.
