Alexander mentioned "network-manager doesn't index by essid/address combination". Not doing so might be a design option to accommodate the case where the same essid serves the same network. A better idea would be to index by the essid/mode/encryption-type and that way it wouldn't break the roaming feature.
What I'm trying to say, is that there doesn't seem to be a way to differentiate between use cases. You can have: - multi-aps infrastructures - various separate other networks with the same essid In the current code: The first point works. The second point can be helped by the introduction of the changes of the indexing mentioned above. However in the case two networks indexed as follows, linksys/master/wep, I don't think anything can be done, and the networks must be changed to have different essids! In resume: Careful to not break roaming. Hope this helped in any way. -- NM cannot distinguish between two networks with the same SSID at all https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/129908 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
