I did try using this command: echo 7a 2090 > /proc/asound/card0/codec97#0/ac97#0-0+regs but when I do it without root , I get an acces denied error. And with sudo su I get: bash: /proc/asound/card0/codec97#0/ac97#0-0+regs: No such device I did not try to install a new version of alsa manually.
