How can it be the window to initiate the operation, if I'm doing it
using a Compiz plugin?

I just re-read my previous posts, and I think perhaps I wasn't clear
enough. I'm not talking about the full-screen mode that application like
Firefox, Evince and the Gnome terminal have. I'm talking about the full-
screen option given by the “Extra WM Actions” plug-in, which applies to
every (re-sizable) window, even those that don't have a full-screen
option.

I'm certain that the two are independent. When Firefox's or Evince's own
full-screen mode is activated, the contents (eg, toolbars) change, too.
When I use Compiz's plug-in to do that, this doesn't happen. So I'm sure
the application doesn't notice it.
