This particular bug has been already reported as bug 150930. It is
caused by the Gutsy ubiquity installer which installs bad values in
/etc/usplash.conf and it is currently fixed in the next ubuntu release.
Therefore, I set this bug as a duplicate of bug 150930, any further
discussion regarding the bug should occur in the other report. You will
probably find solutions and workaround for your problems by reading the
