The getgnulinux.org site is nicely done, but I don't think it has
anything to do with "making sure people who try out Ubuntu will keep
it".

Linux and GNU software are important components in Ubuntu, and anyone
who wants to get involved in Ubuntu development will soon learn about
both of them. But many people who use Ubuntu will not encounter them,
and there's no reason they should need to. So for Ubuntu to encourage
them to "Switch to Linux" would be confusing: I've only just switched to
Ubuntu, and now Ubuntu wants me to switch to something else?
