O.k. I'll switch pedant mode on :) When I state "latest version of X" I mean the version of X that was installed when I upgraded from Feisty to Gutsy. In other words the version of X that is current in a default install of Gutsy. As I keep my system up to date (i.e. I run the update tool when tray icon informs me there are updates available) I therefore also use the phrase "latest version of X" to specifically mean the version of X that is current in Gutsy as downloaded from the main repositories and updated from the update tool.
i.e. Not only have I not manually added any additional X repositories the problems occured immediately after I'd upgraded from Feisty to Gutsy and whilst I was using a completely "vanilla" set of repositories (where "vanilla set of repositories" is defined as being the default set of repositories that features on a clean Ubuntu install) So whilst trying a Hardy CD may be interesting it does not relate to the problem I have described whereby X does not function correctly in Gutsy. But rest assured I will raise further bugs if and when I upgrade to Hardy and find problems. -- New version of X will not keep resultion I specify https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/192613 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
