Thanks a lot for these detailed informations. According to what I see,
you have a nvidia geforce 8600GT and you use Linux 64bit. There's
actually a bug which prevent usplash to work on all computers on 64 bit
with a nvidia geforce 8xxx card. This bug is one high priority bug in
the hardy-qa list, there's good chances that it will get fixed for
Hardy. Therefore, I will set this bug as a duplicate. Thanks again for
the time you took to improve ubuntu, feel free to report any other bugs
you might find.
