RMVB is a standard format of multimedia encoded with RealPlayer. It's very popular in the Internet. In M$ Windows it can be played with some multimedia players (eg. VLC, SMPlayer) without special decoder, whereas some players (eg. Media Player Classic) need appropriate decoder (Real Time Alternative) to be installed.
