I believe I have the same (or a related) bug, although I don't have gnash installed. Running Hardy Heron, with the latest updates. Seems to happen when there are a lot of things happening on the display, for instance when minimizing firefox (as others have said), or when a notification window pops up over one of the task bars). Screen goes totally black, perhaps with a backlight flicker (you know how there is a difference between an LCD which is "off" and one "displaying a black screen"?). Display doesn't recover. The only keyboard shortcut I can get to generate a response is to tap Ctrl-Alt-Del twice, which will reboot the system.
Hardy Heron, 8.04 uname -r: 2.6.24-8-386 Video: Intel 915GM, using "intel" driver Firefox 3.0b3, although I think this was happening prior to upgrading to Firefox 3 I've looked through the kernel and Xorg logs, but it's hard to tell where exactly the crash is happening. I've attached my Xorg.0.log.old anyhow. ** Attachment added: "Xorg.0.log.old" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/12065577/Xorg.0.log.old -- X crashes on RV370 with firefox + gnash visiting certain urls (no desktop effects) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/140554 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
