Hi,
   thanks for digging into the kernel sources and taking time to help 
investigate this problem. I suggest turning on the following 2 config options 
and rebuilding your kernel:


ACPI_DEBUG=y
         The ACPI driver can optionally report errors with a great deal
          of verbosity. Saying Y enables these statements. This will increase
          your kernel size by around 50K.

ACPI_DEBUG_FUNC_TRACE=y
          Additionally enable ACPI function tracing - will probably produce a 
lot of noise and perhaps will be useful to see where the kernel hangs

And then rebooting on mains power rather than battery. I will be useful
to know what the final kernel messages are before the boot hangs.
