I just tried on Hardy Alpha 4, and I'm still seeing exactly the same problems. However, I also happened to stumble upon a work-around, which works both there and on Gutsy. I can fix the problem like this:
Run System > Preferences > Screen Resolution. Change the resolution to something lower (normally I run at 1280x1024, so I switch it to 1024x760) and hit Apply. Then, when it asks if I want to keep the new resolution, I just click Use previous resolution. After this, all of my graphics problems go away: windows maximize correctly, fullscreen video works (in totem and mplayer), and the screen doesn't flash blank anymore. This lasts until I end my session. The next time I login, all the problems are back. Robert, do you want to try this and see if it works for you? If not, I guess we're having different problems, and so I'll file a different bug. -- Gutsy - Compiz windows will not maximize by default https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/151586 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
