I can confirm this bug and give further details. On current Hardy with chipset and video card:
00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation Mobile PM965/GM965/GL960 Memory Controller Hub (rev 0c) 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 0c) With xorg (1:7.3+10ubuntu4) and intel driver (2:2.2.0.90-2ubuntu2). I read (http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Xorg_RandR_1.2) that earlier intel cards had an 11 bit address space for 3D acceleration (limiting coordinate values to 2048), but my chipset is supposed to have this limitation lifted, but not implemented in the driver. Support would be important to have proper dual display configurations. (It is annoying to have two vertically placed displays with 1680 and 1280 vertical size virtually placed horizontally with the sizes of 1050 and 800, just to fit the maximum size of 2048 in both dimensions. -- intel xorg driver disables direct rendering for virtual display larger than 2048 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/164049 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
