stanley82, if your issue is not exactly like the original bug
reporter's, it would be helpful if you would file your issue as a new
bug report.  Please see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Debugging for some
tips on what files and info to include.

One way to get to the command line even when the mouse is not working is
to switch to the console, by ctrl-alt-f1 or ctrl-alt-f2.
