Public bug reported:

mythplugins included mythphone for the first time over the weekend...
this initial package of mythphone causes mythfrontend to seg fault on my
system a Conroe running edgy/x86_64.

Last few lines of the mythfrontend stdout:
2006-10-01 13:38:29.253 Registering MythMusic Media Handler 1/2 as a media
handler ext()
2006-10-01 13:38:29.254 Registering MythMusic Media Handler 2/2 as a media
handler ext(ogg,mp3,aac,flac)
SIP listening on IP Address 192.168.0.102:5060 NAT address 192.168.0.102
SIP: Cannot register; proxy, username or password not set
Segmentation fault

Removing the package
`sudo dpkg --force-depends --purge mythphone`
solves the problem allowing mythfrontend to work properly...

Perhaps it would be best to make mythphone optional rather then required
to mythplugins, or consider pulling it...

Let me know if there is additional info or troubleshooting steps I can
do to help.
