Public bug reported: After hardy update about 3 weeks ago, I have most letters cropped from the top by +- 1 pixel. Gtk2, qt3, firefox, openoffice are all concerned (athena is OK). Since image speaks thousand words: http://beta.arcig.cz/~eudoxos/temp/pisma/ has screenshots of a few programs that exhibit that.
In a discussion http://www.abclinuxu.cz/forum/show/213770, I was pointed to pango-view. The problem is manifested when using the xft backend, otherwise everything is fine (two screenshots of that at the URL mentioned above) - for that reason I report this against xft.
