Public bug reported:

I've got my hands on a quad-core x86_64 box with 8GB an started to play
with xen-3.2 using hardy, but unfortunately my mileage is very
depressive, because the supplied xen-utils packages of hardy are
conflicting and I've got no clue which one to install.

To be more specific, I've installed the following xen pacakges on my
box:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# dpkg -l | grep xen
ii libxen3 3.2.0-0ubuntu4
library interface for Xen, a Virtual Machine
ii linux-headers-2.6.24-7-xen 2.6.24-7.12
Linux kernel headers for version 2.6.24 on T
ii linux-image-2.6.24-7-xen 2.6.24-7.12
Linux kernel image for version 2.6.24 on Thi
ii python-xen-3.2 3.2.0-0ubuntu4
python bindings for Xen, a Virtual Machine M
ii xen-docs-3.2 3.2.0-0ubuntu4
documentation for XEN, a Virtual Machine Mon
ii xen-hypervisor-3.2 3.2.0-0ubuntu4
The Xen Hypervisor for i386 and amd64.
ii xen-image-2.6.19-4-generic-amd64 2.6.19-2ubuntu7
Linux kernel image for version 2.6.19 on x86
ii xen-tools 3.8-4ubuntu1
Tools to manage debian XEN virtual servers
ii xen-utils-3.2 3.2.0-0ubuntu4
          XEN administrative tools

Like with xen-3.1, I've tried to issuse '/etc/init.d/xend start' after
configuring /etc/xen/xend-config.sxp, but xen-utils-3.2 doe not contain
the xend init.d-script. Poking around I've found out, that there's a
package called 'xen-util-common', which does contain the xend
init.d-script.

However xen-utils-common conflicts with xen-util-3.2 like follows:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# LANG=C apt-get install xen-utils-common

The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required:

After this operation, 365kB of additional disk space will be used.

dpkg: error processing

Any help at this point is appreciated,

  TIA,

     Wolfgang
