I'm having the same problem (LG-S1-pro laptop, Intel HD audio). While working on getting decent diagnostics, I stumbeled across error messages sometimes popping up on the the console giving me "ALSA lib control.c:909:(snd_ctl_open_noupdate) Invalid CTL front:0"
Any ideas?
