Hi again, just downloaded Ubuntu alpha4 and booted the live CD on my Thinkpad R31 with my Intel Corporation 82830 CGC (i830M) - see above. That showed a running xserver-xorg-video-intel - 2:2.2.0+git20080107-1ubuntu2 installed (like Collin telled us above).
