+1 from the Arabic team. Danilo, it seems to me that, in part, you are trying to solve a technical problem via a social solution.
For some of us with stretched resources, there is simply too much overhead to try and coordinate with so many distributions, ubuntu being only just one. I don't like the idea of pushing some work (be it even communication) over upstream coordinators. You're referring to many ways of partial solutions to some of the points addressed in the report. Most of which involve us fiddling with Rosetta/Launchpad. I do understand the need for Canonical to push LP and tools forward, but it shouldn't be at the expense of the coordinators time. While the "communication" route can be a temporary solution (in the same sense as a hack in code), finer control over locking translations should be the way to go. E.g . Ubuntu wants some strings to be "creatively translated" ? fine, mark those for translations, but lock the rest and let me forget it about it.
