Sorry, I was wrong about 3,4. To test set jumper on 2,3 (TXD, RXD) pins. Does it works for you? Nice video, how do you use linux in this area? Have you tried usb to serial converters, they are much cheaper then pcmcia one (here about $150), most of them work just perfect under linux, I tried ones based on ftdi, cp2101, cypress_m8 and pl2303.
