For those of you who are struggling with this I can confirm that the winfast DTV1000T remote (serial no Y0400052) can be made to work reliably with gutsy (7.10). The two issues that need to be tackled are 1- Fix the cx88 module by Updating to the latest V4L driver 2 - recompile kernel with timer frequency = 1000hz
Lirc does not have to be used as the remote is accessible directly via the event layer I believe the V4L driver has been incorporated into the 2.6.23 kernel so this problem will be fixed for Hardy The time frequency setting change is however a bigger issue as if hardy is also released with the default timer set to 250 and no easy way to change this setting it will still require a kernel reconfiguration. This spills over into recompiling restricted module as well if you need to use a propriatory driver (i.e for Xvmc support etc). -- Leadtek Winfast DTV1000T Remote Control https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/151561 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
