That's not really the same error: We have perfectly working CDs (install fine, checksums good), only the "CD check" mechanism says the CD is corrupted. This even happens if the CD is *perfect*, as Trouilliez found out in VMWare. The CD is not corrupt though.
What you are describing is a real corrupt CD, which won't install and does have errors. I have heard this happens quite frequently with Ubuntu CDs, no idea why.
