I simply did aptitude update aptitude upgrade
but I know of another user who had the same problem. I'll find out which method he used. And yes, I have ubuntu-minimal (which depends on python-minimal, I see) installed. As for the initial report: I am not 100% sure whether python-minimal was installed or whether I had to install it myself (I'd guess it was, given that ubuntu-minimal is). I *did* however need to create the symlink, since there was no 'pyversions' available on the path.
