Hi Kevin, Edgy boots by default into runlevel 2. I tried runlevels 2-5 and they all boot into the gui. I filed the bug report because I think one of the runlevels should be reserved for text/console mode and should have the X stuff disabled. If you go into one of the rcX runlevels and unlink the gdm and usplash links, hoping to get a text login prompt,. you wont. After everythings booted you will be in tty8 and will need to physically switch to console 1 or 2 (or whatever) to log in.
