Public bug reported:

I try to startup the edgy beta desktop CD. This process freezes when the
X server should be fired up. It seems to be a problem with a buggy ACPI
impl in my laptop. On a running system I found two ways to solve this
problem:

1. Use the vesa driver. AFAIK, the xforcevesa boot option is supposed to do
exactly this, but it seems this doesn't work with the beta CD.
2. Load a fixed DSDT from http://acpi.sourceforge.net/dsdt/view.php?id=346 by
putting the compiled DSDT into /etc/initramfs. This is a better solution as it
allows hardware accelerated graphics even with my ATI chip.

Would be nice to have this fixed for Edgy.
