I just noticed this bug in the Hardy Heron desktop live daily images and was searching to see if it had already been filed. It may be related to bug #46985 since both seem to be Unicode issues. The problem with Hindi is that the vowel characters are modifiers and should combine with the characters before them. Instead they appear as separate characters with horrible looking dashed areas where the characters are supposed to combine. Also I can't find where translation improvements to the bootscreen should go.
