Confirmed: the monitor-reconfiguration bursts happen exactly when the
HDMI TV is switched off (burst at 00:52:48 while switching off the TV,
its companion USB audio device disconnecting 14 s later). The same
TV/setup was used the same way before summer 2026 on kernel 6.17 without
any crash; crashes started with the HWE kernel 7.0 (mid-August). So
kernel 7.0 seems to report HDMI display power-off/standby as a hot-
unplug where 6.17 did not, and mutter 46 then crashes on Wayland (mutter
issue #3402). Under Xorg the same bursts occur (1–2/day) without any
crash (0 crashes in 3 days).
