Installing hardy alpha3 amd64 on a latitude D630. [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ cat /etc/lsb-release DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu DISTRIB_RELEASE=8.04 DISTRIB_CODENAME=hardy DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu hardy (development branch)" [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ dpkg -l xserver-xorg [...] ii xserver-xorg 1:7.3+10ubuntu the X.Org X server The generated /etc/X11/xorg.conf contains: Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Configured Mouse" Driver "mouse" Option "CorePointer" Option "Device" "10 xserver-xorg/config/inputdevice/mouse/port doesn't exist" Option "Protocol" "10 xserver-xorg/config/inputdevice/mouse/protocol doesn't exist" Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5" EndSection which disables the touchpoint device, which makes it very hard to use a graphical user interface until you discover that the touchpad still works. The correct values for Device and Protocol are supplied from a Gutsy install: Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice" Option "Protocol" "ImPS/2" Probably need to be copied into a configuration database somewhere. -- rec -- ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- touchpoint device not configured https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/186084 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
