Hi folks, Given the short lead-time that the Manitoba legislature gave for this DST change, I hope, time willing, that you will consider expediting the release of version 2026e to account for it.
We have a number of server programs built on Ubuntu Jammy and Noble which perform timezone-sensitive timestamp calculations with a lead time of 30 days, which we're now within. They will require updating and the current path for us is to either install the debs directly, or pin tzdata from -proposed, and I'm sure there would be lots of other users who are unaware of the changes or otherwise facing a similar issue. There is similar precedent for 2025b and 2022f: * https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2104284 * https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1995209 Thank you for the consideration either way! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2169125 Title: tzdata 2026e release To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/tzdata/+bug/2169125/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
