Public bug reported: freespace2 26.0.0+repack-1 has been in stonking-proposed for 97 days. It fails to build on all architectures:
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/freespace2/26.0.0+repack-1/+build/33378301 parsers/arg_parser/generated/ArgumentListLexer.h:30:43: error: 'virtual const std::vector<std::string>& ArgumentListLexer::getTokenNames() const' marked 'override', but does not override parsers/arg_parser/generated/ArgumentListLexer.h:33:39: error: invalid covariant return type for 'virtual const std::vector<short unsigned int> ArgumentListLexer::getSerializedATN() const' parsers/arg_parser/generated/ArgumentListLexer.cpp:251:35: error: cannot convert 'std::vector<short unsigned int>' to 'antlr4::atn::SerializedATNView' Cause: the Debian packaging regenerates the ANTLR parsers at build time with the system antlr4 tool (4.9.2), via d/p/antlr4.diff. It also reverts the code to the 4.9 runtime API, via d/p/antlr4-buildfix.patch. Ubuntu has shipped antlr4-cpp-runtime 4.10 since plucky (mysql-shell uses it), and the 4.9-generated code does not compile against it. Debian is still on runtime 4.9; 4.10 is only in experimental, and the auto- antlr4-cpp-runtime transition tracker lists freespace2 as "bad". No antlr4 tool newer than 4.9.2 exists in Debian or Ubuntu, so there's no way to regenerate matching code in the archive. As a result, no freespace2 version has migrated in Ubuntu since the runtime update. Possible ways forward: - build from upstream's checked-in parsers (generated with ANTLR 4.13.2) by dropping both Debian antlr patches. Untested: it's unknown whether those compile against the 4.10 runtime. - wait for Debian to complete the antlr4 4.10+ transition (tool and runtime). ** Affects: freespace2 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: ftbfs stonking update-excuse ** Tags added: ftbfs stonking update-excuse -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2170760 Title: freespace2 FTBFS: ANTLR parsers generated for runtime 4.9, Ubuntu has antlr4-cpp-runtime 4.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/freespace2/+bug/2170760/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
