Thanks - apport-collect is done, so all the collected data should be
attached now.

Reading the collected CurrentDmesg, two things may be useful.

1) The amp firmware is loading fine, so this isn't a missing-firmware
problem:

cs35l56 sdw:0:1:...: DSP1: cirrus/cs35l57-b2-dsp1-misc-144dc910.wmfw: ...
v4.7.0, 42 algorithms
cs35l56 sdw:0:1:...: DSP1: cirrus/cs35l57-b2-dsp1-misc-144dc910-l1u0.bin (v1):
v4.7.0
cs35l56 sdw:0:2:...: DSP1: cirrus/cs35l57-b2-dsp1-misc-144dc910-l2u1.bin (v1):
v4.7.0
cs35l56 sdw:0:1 / 0:2: Calibration applied (Tuning PID/SID/TID all 0x0)

2) There is no board-specific SoundWire machine driver match, so it falls back
to the
generic one:

sof-audio-pci-intel-ptl 0000:00:1f.3: No SoundWire machine driver found for the
ACPI-reported configuration:
  link 1 mfg_id 0x01fa part_id 0x3557 version 0x3 (CS35L57)
  link 2 mfg_id 0x01fa part_id 0x3557 version 0x3 (CS35L57)
  link 3 mfg_id 0x01fa part_id 0x4245 version 0x3 (CS42L45)
Use SoundWire default machine driver with function topologies
  loading topology 0: intel/sof-ipc4-tplg/sof-sdca-2amp-id2.tplg
  ...
Topology: ABI 3:29:1 Kernel ABI 3:23:1

3) Most interesting: a UBSAN warning appears at the moment audio
playback starts:

UBSAN: shift-out-of-bounds in
/build/linux-7VAWC7/linux-7.3.0/sound/soc/sof/ipc4-topology.c:2471:13
  _sof_ipc4_prepare_copier_module.cold
  sof_ipc4_prepare_copier_module
  sof_pcm_hw_params

That shift-out-of-bounds in the IPC4 topology copier preparation looks like a
genuine bug
and a plausible cause of the distorted/scratchy output. Is that the right thing
to chase?

I'm happy to reproduce it and capture more (e.g. run `speaker-test` while
capturing dmesg),
or test any patched kernel/topology/UCM if that would help.

Also worth noting: I first saw this from the 26.10 live USB, but I got the same
result from an
actual Ubuntu 26.10 installation, so it is not specific to the live session.

Thank you!
