I've been using a stable install of Dapper for some time now. I can't
say that I've done a lot of CD insertion, actually, but I haven't
noticed the problem. The issue with the unstable build was that it
would work fine, and then something would break, and then it wouldn't
recognize CDs anymore. The unstable seemed to be using some sort of
SCSI emulation layer for ATA devices, while the stable release has gone
back to using /dev/hda, hdb, etc.

On an unrelated note, even when no browser windows are open and no
shells are in the directory, so nothing is making the CD mount point
"busy", pressing the eject button on the drive does not eject the CD.
Is that something I should report?

Thanks.
