Public bug reported: OS: Kubuntu 26.10 RC
Steps to reproduce: 1. Download the 1080p version of https://pixabay.com/videos/storm-ocean-sky-rain-the-waves-16160/. This is an MP4 video. 2. Download https://github.com/ietf-wg-cellar/matroska-test-files/blob/master/test_files/test1.mkv. This is a snippet of Big Buck Bunny, using DivX video. 3. Launch Haruna from a Konsole terminal. 4. Attempt to view the first video. 5. Close Haruna. 6. Launch Haruna from a Konsole terminal again. 7. Attempt to view the second video. Expected result: Both videos should play back. Actual result: Audio plays back without problems, but video does not play back at all. After launching Haruna, the error "Cannot load libcuda.so.1" appears. When attempting to view the MP4 video, the error "Failed to open VDPAU backend libvdpau_nvidia.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" appears immediately after opening the file. When attempting to view the MKV video, no additional library-related error appears when the video is opened. This is happening in a VirtualBox VM, in a live session, with 3d acceleration disabled in VirtualBox. The host is using NVIDIA, but the guest shouldn't be affected by (or even know) that. Why it's trying to load libcuda and libvdpau_nvidia is beyond me. ** Affects: haruna (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2170642 Title: Cannot play mp4 videos in a live session To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/haruna/+bug/2170642/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
