Public bug reported: blimps 3.9+ds-4ubuntu1 (gcc-15/C23 fix, Debian #1114069) built everywhere except armhf:
p2clib.c:817:10: error: passing argument 1 of 'time' from incompatible pointer type [-Wincompatible-pointer-types] (same at 818, 838, 839, 853, 854) https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/blimps/3.9+ds-4ubuntu1/+build/33830749 blimps/p2clib.c stores the result of time() in a "long" (TimeStamp(), VAXdate(), VAXtime()). On armhf time_t is 64-bit while long is 32-bit, so time() would write 8 bytes into a 4-byte variable; gcc-15 rejects it. Fix: use time_t. This also blocks sift 6.2.1-2ubuntu1, which fails on armhf because it builds against the old blimps 3.9+ds-2 headers (redefinition of 'struct motif_struct'): https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sift/6.2.1-2ubuntu1/+build/33831861 Forwarded to Debian on #1114069 (Debian only builds blimps on amd64 since it's non-free). Upstream is dead. Once blimps 3.9+ds-4ubuntu2 is built on armhf, the sift armhf build needs a retry. ** Affects: blimps (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Assignee: Sebastien Bacher (seb128) Status: Fix Committed ** Affects: sift (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: armhf ftbfs update-excuse ** Changed in: blimps (Ubuntu) Status: New => Fix Committed ** Tags added: update-excuse ** Changed in: blimps (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Sebastien Bacher (seb128) ** Tags added: ftbfs ** Tags added: armhf -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2170557 Title: blimps FTBFS on armhf: time() result stored in long (64-bit time_t), blocks sift To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/blimps/+bug/2170557/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
