Public bug reported: Ubuntu 26.04, gnome-shell 50.1, mutter 50.1, gnome-shell-ubuntu-extensions (Tiling Assistant v54), Firefox 157 snap (native Wayland). ▎ ▎ Steps: drag a Firefox window (by its titlebar, or by tearing a tab off) to the left screen edge so that part of it goes off-screen, and release while the tile preview is shown. ▎ ▎ Expected: the window is tiled to the left half. ▎ Actual: the window gets tiled, but ~100 ms later its x-position jumps back to where the pointer was released. y stays at 0, and the size stays correct. It happens intermittently, mostly when the window was partly off-screen at release. ▎ ▎ Trace (window frame rect, ms): ▎ 13768 grab-end -652,367 1920x2160 ▎ 13768 TILE -> 0,0 1920x2160 ▎ 13808 pos 0,0 1920x2160 ▎ 13923 pos -652,0 1920x2160 <- reverted ▎ This looks like mutter applying a stale position from a configure sent during the interactive move. The workaround is to call window.move_frame(true, x, y) again after Twm.tile() (checked at 100/250/500/1000 ms while tiledRect is unchanged), which fixes it reliably.
