Tested 7.0.0-38.38~24.04.4 (from noble-proposed, now in noble-updates) for three days with the NVIDIA driver loaded and default i915 settings (PSR2 enabled, no workaround parameters). Several long idles with blanking enabled, including an overnight one of ~7 h with the display off, plus two days docked via DisplayLink with the internal panel in use: no hangs, and the panel woke immediately every time. For comparison, 7.0.0-31 hung in 11 of 18 boots. The fix works on this machine. Thanks!
