Summary:
Since upgrading to kernel 6.8.0-140-generic, the system no longer wakes up from
suspend/sleep mode. The issue persists on newer versions such as
6.8.0-142-generic. Rolling back to kernel 6.8.0-139-generic completely restores
normal suspend/resume behavior.
Steps to reproduce:
Boot into kernel 6.8.0-140-generic (or 6.8.0-142-generic).
Suspend the laptop (either via system menu or closing the lid).
Attempt to wake the system (pressing a key, power button, or opening
the lid).
Expected result:
The system resumes normally, powers the display back on, and unlocks the
session.
Actual result:
The system fails to wake up (black screen, system unresponsive / frozen). A
hard power reset is required to restart the machine.
